Brian &
Rebecca Olsen
Pine Ridge Ministries
Brian was raised in a pastor’s home, the youngest of
four boys, in the small farm town of Chillicothe, Illinois. Brian
accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very young age. He had the
privilege of going to camp every summer and learned to develop a love
for the outdoors and particularly enjoyed the frequent vacations that he
made out west. God gifted him with creativity and the use of his hands
and it seemed that camp work was what God would have for him. With that
he attended Bob Jones University where he majored in Church
Administration with a concentration in camp work.
In 1986 he joined the pioneer staff of the Wilds of the Rockies in
Colorado. In 1988 he was transferred to The Wilds in NC where he served
on the program staff for 10 years. While there he met his wife, Rebecca,
and they were married in 1993. In 1998 he returned to The Wilds of the
Rockies. Since then God has blessed them with 4 children.
In the fall of 2004 The Wilds of the Rockies closed. The Olsens had the
opportunity to go back east but they felt burdened to stay in Colorado.
After spending much time in prayer and counsel they decided to resign
from The Wilds and start a camp here in Colorado. They have since moved
to Westminster and have been raising support and sharing their vision
for a new camp. God has provided them with a part time ministry at
Tri-City Baptist Church to meet their financial needs. Ultimately their
goal is to see God provide a miracle and give them a place where they
run a camp with the same type of philosophy and program that they have
learned from The Wilds. All to the Glory of God!
