Matthew

Biblical Counseling

In 1977, Matthew was born into a Christian home where he was nurtured
physically, emotionally, and most of all, spiritually. At fourteen he
placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Shortly
thereafter he surrendered his life to God and began considering full
time ministry.
In 1999, he graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College with his
degree in Pastoral Studies. A few months later, he married the godliest
and most beautiful woman he had ever met, Esther Scott. The Vons have
three sons: Titus, Silas, and Marcus.
In August of 1999, they joined the Pastoral Staff of High Point Baptist
Chapel and Matthew began his seminary studies at Calvary Baptist
Theological Seminary. During that time God began to increase Matt’s
interest in Biblical Counseling. In 2001, he began taking counseling
classes from Westminster Theological Seminary and in May of 2004 he
earned his degree in Biblical Counseling.
In August of 2004 the Vons moved to Denver, Colorado to establish Rocky
Mountain Biblical Counseling Center. The counseling center exists to
glorify God by connecting and conforming individuals to Christ. In the
first year of its existence, Rocky Mountain Biblical Counseling Center
has been instrumental in seeing ten individuals trust Christ as their
Savior, and hundreds of others make countless decisions for Christ. The
counseling ministry has also been a blessing to several pastors and
their churches. RMBCC and Matthew’s life are truly a testimony to Psalms
119:65, “Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto
thy word.”
