Rick Shields Family

Rick was saved while in the Navy. After his discharge, Rick attended Clearwater Christian College, where he met Robin. She is the youngest daughter of a former missionary to Mexico. After graduation from Rio Grande Bible Institute Language School in August 1979, the Shields entered Mexico. Twenty-four years later, Rick and Robin are still bouncing over the mountain roads of north-central Mexico.

They have established seven churches and started several local missions. In 1986, they founded a Bible Institute and Training Center. Many men and women have studied at the Instituto Bautista Manatial and are now serving in local churches.

In recent years, Robin became aware of the plight of Christian children in the Mexican public schools. As a result, the Shields started a Christian school. The Shields are also blessed that their four children have surrendered their lives for full-time service in Mexico.
