Welcome to the Woodside Children's page!  To the left you will find pictures and more in-depth information about our ministries, but before you check those out, be sure to read below to see what our ministry is all about!
 I. Our Goals:
1. Equip:

- The children in their spiritual growth.

- Parents to be better parents.

- Teachers in their ability to teach the Scriptures.

2. Evangelize:

- children

- parents

3. Strengthen the Family:

- Turn the hearts of the children to the parents.

- Turn the hearts of the parents to the children.

II. Our Methods (What we do to reach our goals):

Children’s Church – This is patterned after a regular church service, yet is given at a child’s level.  Your child can expect children’s songs, prayer requests and prayer, testimonies, a missionary story, a Bible lesson, and games at the end.

Sunday School – A more relaxed, educational method to teaching the children about God and God’s Word.

Time with Parents in Church (Sunday P.M.) – This is a way for the parents to have a hands on way of training their children.

AWANA on Wednesday nights (fall-spring: 7-8:30pm) – Patterned after a boy/girl scout type club, the AWANA club gives the kids a chance to learn the Bible while enjoying the company of other kids their age.  AWANA includes: Games, Council time, Bible memory, and many other things!

Summer Program (Wednesday nights during the summer: 7-8:30pm) – This is a program in which the kids are able to keep active in the summer, while still learning the Bible.  The program also involves: Game time, Snacks, Teaching time, and Bible memory.

Junior Camp – Junior camp is an opportunity for kids in grades 4-6 to spend a quality time with other kids in a Christian controlled environment.

Junior Day camp - Jr. Day Camp meets one week in the summer.  Most days meet from 10am-2pm.  There are fun activities planned and a Bible lesson given every day.  (Cost is usually around $30 for the week.)

Friday school - (See Woodside Baptist School page)

VBS / NBT - A yearly "Vacation Bible School" which meets meets in the evenings of a week in the summer.  It is meant as an encouragement and fun time for our church children, but also an opportunity to reach out to our neighborhoods and unsaved friends.  This year (2014) we will be having "Neighborhood Bible Time"

Bible Quizzing - We put a main emphasis on learning and memorizing God's Word.  As a way to help our young people reach this goal, we have a Bible quiz team for children in grades 4-6.  We meet every Sunday afternoon at 5:00.  Bible Quizzing is an important part of training our young people to develop the habit of studying God's Word every day.

Children’s choir - Every Sunday afternoon at 5:20, those who are interested in having their children learn godly music at a basic level meet for children's choir practice.  The choir leaders are knowledgeable and qualified, and love to work with children.

III. Our Beliefs

1. We are all sinners.

Rom. 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2. There is a penalty/price for our sins.

Rom. 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom. 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

3. Jesus Christ has paid the price/penalty for our sins on the cross.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

4. We must believe in Jesus Christ to go to heaven, or spend eternity in hell.

Rom. 10:9,10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1. Admit that you are a sinner.

  Rom. 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2. Believe that Jesus died and took the penalty for your sins.

Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

3. Call upon Him, in your heart/beliefs to save you.

Rom. 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
