Chuck Crabtree - Staff Evangelist

From a marriage of a Choctaw Indian to an Irish lady, God brought Charles Gilbert Crabtree into the world on March 06, 1935, in Lusk, Wyoming.  My first six years were lived in Red Rock, Oklahoma.  From there, my dad, Elmer, and mom, Goldie, Crabtree and me moved to Denver, Colorado.  I attended Mt. View grade school and Wheatridge junior and senior high schools.  Upon graduation, I enrolled in Bob Jones University, where I trusted the Lord as my savior, and then was “called” to preach.

While at BJU, two men and I formed an acrobatic team and traveled in ministry for six years.  The Lord brought Alyce Honaker into my life and we married in 1960; the very best girl for me in the ministry who God has given to me – the ministry of evangelism.  This calling is an extension of Woodside Baptist Church.  With five children and five grandchildren, my wife and I are enjoying fifty-two years of marriage, over fifty years of ministry, and over fifty years of God’s wonderful gift of salvation.  It is with great thankfulness for all of this and the privilege of serving the Lord at Woodside Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Craig Scott.

Clay Schreiber - Children's Minisitries / School Administrator

After being an active member of Woodside Baptist Church since 1990, the Lord opened the opportunity to come on staff full-time in 2008.  While serving as business manager, I am also involved with Children’s ministries, including Sunday School and Junior Church, am working with others as to the prospectus of relocation into another church facility, and am the Administrator for Woodside Baptist School.  My wife of forty-two years is one of our part-time secretaries, and is active in various ministries, including interpreting for the deaf and hearing-impaired.

We have been blessed with four children who are all married.
Our oldest daughter, Jennifer, is married to A J Schmitz, who also assists me in financial aspects while working full-time as an electrical engineer.  They have triplets, Benjamin, Grace, and Stephen, along with another son, Luke, and daughter, Anne.  They live in town, attend Woodside, and are very active in Junior Church, the youth, and bible-quizzing.  They have been married for 16 years.

Our middle daughter, Megan, graduated from Northland International University and then met her husband, Ryan, while on the mission field in China for over ten years. They left the mission field to return to England, where they currently reside, and have two young daughters, Juniper and Cedar.  Ryan is a mathematics and computer teacher.  They have been married for 7 years.

Our youngest daughter, Emily, graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a nursing degree and was on faculty there, until moving to Denver and taking a pediatric nursing position at Children’s Hospital.  She married Andrew Bixby, who serves in the United States Army. They reside in Ankeny, Iowa and have been recently reunited after Andrews’ return from a second deployment. They have three children:  a daughter, Abigail, and two sons, Elijah and Isaiah.  They have been married for 6 years.

Our son, Collin, and his wife, Abby both graduated from Northland International University, and have spent the last two years in China, in the same location as his sister, Megan.  They have returned to Aurora where they hope to settle. Collin is finishing work on his Master’s Degree in Business and has accepted a position with CityWIde Banks. Abby is currently working as a nanny.  They attend Woodside and are active in the Children’s ministries. Collin also helps in financial aspects of the church.  They have been married for 2 1/2  years.

We count it a privilege to be a part of the ministry of Woodside Baptist Church – our people are unique in their fervour for the things of God, their thirst for the Word, and their love of each other.  We are blessed to be able to serve whenever and wherever, and to work toward equipping our saints for the work of the ministry.
